Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon is wondering why he can’t get cancelled, despite his monologues being mostly clean and not mentioning anything that someone might find offensive.
“He’s just… nice,” said local activist and cancellation archivist Marla Jennings, while watching monologues from the last few weeks of The Tonight Show.
Jennings also analyzed years worth of social media posts from Fallon. “I found a tweet from 2011 where he said ‘I love all kinds of people!’ and I was like, okay, maybe he’s being performative? But then he followed it up with a donation receipt to a multicultural youth center. It’s exhausting.”
Fallon’s refusal to be problematic has sparked outrage across social media platforms, where users have attempted to manufacture controversy with hashtags like #FallonGate #TooPoliteToBeReal. None have gained traction.
“He once said he didn’t like olives,” tweeted one user. “Is that anti-Mediterranean? I’m just asking questions.”
Despite multiple attempts to bait Fallon into a scandal—including inviting him to comment on divisive topics, tagging him in threads about pineapple on pizza, and sending him obviously fake DMs pretending to be a brand asking for unpaid labor—Jimmy Fallon has remained uncancellable.
